Delay Between Quests

I've noticed a couple of things I'd like to change but am not sure how to do it. If nobody comments in a short while I may just choose something to say. I've been doing Inn League quests as part of Spring Festival 2010. They appear not to be repeatable "daily", but rather have a number of hours before you can repeat them. I didn't keep exact track, but one repeat had 13 hours wait before the next, while the next had 19. I've been told the NPCs are only around during festivals, so these are effectively festival-only quests, apparently. I wonder if a previous festival had daily repeats? So I'm thinking of adding prose about timing saying something like "The NPCs to whom you deliver the drinks are only present during festivals. Repeatability has varied from festival to festival: at one point they were daily, but in another they required a number of hours less than a day, with the interval increasing each time you repeated a quest." Sounds awkward, but would avoid the situation I found myself in where I thought "13 hours -- I could get up at 2am so I had a chance to get another repeat done, but it's not important." Then the interval went up to 19 hours and I missed the last repeat, which missed becoming a "friend" of the inn league.

I'm probably overthinking all this, but I've made only a few edits so far and don't feel confident yet in policy decisions like this. -- David 12:13, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi David. Adding something about the NPCs (and thus the quests being only available) during festivals sounds good to add. Actually it makes me wonder that it's not there yet in the text. Doesn't this also count for the Inn League run? Maybe there should just be one general sentence that quests for Inn League reputation are only available during the festivals. Under "General quests" or something if I'm right about this.
For the 'daily quests' you mean the Delivery quests? I don't know the waiting time either. Perhaps you can see the "Retry" time after handing in? (Haven't tried this yet, but this is often the case with repeatable quests.) I doubt if they are changing the times festival-dependent. Probably they just changed it and you were unlucky. I'd add just the current repeatable time until we are certain about this.
Then for the Delivery quests, they changed something last Thursday with the update and now they can be picked up all at once from inn league members. I think we should add a sentence with the names and locations of these members. However, I've not done any delivery quest since then, so haven't been able to see how this now works.
I hope I helped a bit with my thoughts. Since you started about this, it would be great if you could add your changes. It's never bad to overthink an edit, but don't be afraid to add stuff. Looks like you're doing fine at editing. (If you want you can catch me at IRC as well, I'm usually there while editing.) -- Ravanel 13:04, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks; I have made a small change. I'll wait until the next festival to clarify whether intervals between repeating quests reset to small numbers of hours for each new festival. David 14:53, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Maybe that fluctuating number of hours is the remaining time before midnight, roughly shown in hours? If yes, it could theorically be repeated twice in an hour if done around midnight? That'd explain the "daily" tag. :) -- Goingbald 16:50, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Entirely possible, in which case I'd want to figure out the timezone. If I remember correctly it would be 2 hours after local midnight Eastern time (using Elendilmir), which would seem to be Mountain time. On the other hand, rounding issues might mean it's midnight Pacific time. In which case European servers would be different. I've tried an edit that reflects this without committing to details we don't know. David 18:54, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Barter Items

Rewards now require Badges of Taste instead of festival tokens. Once again I'm intimidated, this time by the complexity of adding a new item entry. I know about using the button that creates one, but the huge list of entries I might need to fill out is a lot to think about -- but I'll get to it eventually. Fortunately leaving entries blank seems to be safe. I think the right thing to do is change the reference to festival tokens to badges of taste instead, with a comment at the top of the section that says they used to require tokens from the various festivals. Next time I run my Friend of the Inn League toon I'll verify the current information and update the entry. David 19:01, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

I know what you mean, the template got so many options you need to search all the time to find the few you do need to fill in. But after a while when you've done many you sort of get used to it. I don't know anything about these badges of taste yes, but perhaps the info in the template of their counterpart, the Badges of Dishonour, helps? For the rest just wanted to say the added info is looking good. --Ravanel 08:49, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
