Strange how much HP's hobbits have. I really don't understand how the totals are tabulated as the hobbit Guardian has leff hp than the Dwarf wheras the Dwarf Minstrel has less HP than the Hobbit Minstrel.

What factors affect these stats rather than just race and class, as ther certainly seems to be more there.

Level, Equipment, Potions, Food, Traits and even Skills will improve the stats.--Hinney 03:30, 31 March 2007 (PDT)

Could it be that these stats have been patched/changed? My Elf-hunter level 1 has 86 Morale and 152 Power istead of 89M/147P.

My stats where noticed with a 0 Hope-Char. I think these are stats from the beta, so better change these... Weird, there is no ranged and tactical crit.

Need Warden/RK stats

Warden and Rune Keeper starting stats would be a welcome addition. --Nevakild (talk) 12:34, 20 October 2011 (EDT)

Agreed! Feel free to update this. --Ravanel (talk) 14:02, 7 November 2011 (EST)

Consistent stat presentation

It would be nice if all defense/offense stats were represented either as ratings or percents, rather than a mix. It would also be nice if the row labels were more detailed (e.g., "Critical chance" or "Critical magnitude" instead of just "Critical"). Opinions on rating vs. percent? Nevakild (talk)

Just remember what they stand for and your confusion will vanish ;)
  • For example Morale, a character had a certain amount of Morale, not a percent.
  • For example Evade, a character has a certain chance to evade an attack, not a fixed amount.
Of course "chance" can be expressed as a flat number too, or almost, but then it should read 23 in 1000 because experience has learned that in 1000 attempts you evaded 23 times and to be sure you tried yet another 1000 times and found it to be 22 (hmm, a difference?) and you try yet another 1000 times and it was 24, so 23 seems to be a fair average. But 23 of 1000 is exactly what is expressed by percent, or rather 23 of 1000 is written as 23 ‰ which equals 2.3 %.
Does this explain it? -- Zimoon (talk) 02:55, 7 November 2011 (EST)
Thanks (you have a talent for intuitive explanations), but with regard to this chart specifically, I think there's still some ambiguity/inconsistency: Is critical % the chance of a critical hit or the damage magnitude above a regular hit? (Both are percents, and I'm guessing the chart lists the chance of critical hit, but the chart doesn't say that.) Melee/Ranged Offence Rating increases damage by some percentage--Why don't we list this percentage instead of the rating number? Other than these two things, the chart is crystal clear, but I wanted opinions on this before I update the stats for Isengard. Thanks for the feedback! --Nevakild (talk) 13:54, 7 November 2011 (EST)
I don't think the reason some are percentages has anything to do with them representing chance. The values in the table haven't been changed since back when the game started. Back then there were no ratings, only percentages. It probably should show a rating now, or at least have the percentages checked, it just the table has never been updated since then. Amphoras (talkTalk to me!) 15:41, 7 November 2011 (EST)
Amphoras mentions something that is very common in any game. Sometimes "chance" skills/abilities are expressed in flat and stackable values, just that. However, usually they boils down to a chance measured in percent and players scratch their head and toss their hair to work out the exact percentage based on the values. Whether the values (flat or percent) in this table are correct or not is another story, I am the mapoholic of this place 8-)

Critical chance is a percent computed from critical rating, as you can see if you mouse over the latter in your character panel. Thanks again for the input. --Nevakild (talk) 17:35, 7 November 2011 (EST)

Accuracy

These stats were taken with the characters with equipment. That is a terrible way to gather stats. The character must be naked.
