Social Accomplishments (copied from old page)

As I'm sure others do, I remember these social accomplishments being tracked in the Deed Log (Shift-L). However, I don't see them in Open Beta. Is there a belief that these are being tracked invisibly? Any rumors to that effect? Broogen 24 Apr 07

A few posters on the forums have commented that they believe the social deeds are still being tracked invisibly. You can take a friend and go to a quiet corner of the world and have them use some of the emotes on you. Supposedly you will hear a ding to announce a new deed has begun (but only the first time). Turbine may have hidden them in the Deeds log to prevent people from just spamming them all every day.

I have heard the ding, once, when someone "bow"ed to me (in EU pre-order).

About Hidden Deeds

In book 11, a feature was added that allowed new deeds to automatically display on the quest tracker. This had the unintended side effect of tracking "hidden" deeds like the social emote deeds and food consumption deeds. By testing with a newly-created character, many of the deeds that were in the beta -- when these deeds showed up in the deed log -- were able to be verified as of book 11. The Social Deeds page lists the ones that could be confirmed using this trick.

The following deeds were unable to be confirmed (and forum posts suggest that people have been unable to obtain them despite actively working on emote deeds)

  • Flip - Unconfirmed
    • Receive 100 /handstand emotes. This can only be incremented 5 times per day.
    • Reward - /flip emote
  • The Adorable - Unconfirmed
    • Receive 100 /hug emotes. This can only be incremented 5 times per day.
    • Reward - Title: the Adorable

I think the defect that allowed hidden deeds to show up in the tracker has been fixed in book 12, so confirming these titles will require some diligent detective work. MysterX 14:31, 14 March 2008 (PDT)

Handstand has been confirmed to give the flip emote in Book 13. - VanTheMan
...and now /flip is available to all without requiring a deed.

  • Acrobatic Spirit
    • Receive 100 /handstand emotes. This can only be incremented 5 times per day.
    • Reward - /flip emote
