We need to find any differences between this page and Septascarabe's really REALLY long list of Locations and update this page. Eventually the Septa page will need to be deleted.

Landmark coordinates is a better name for this page in the long term. I like the new format a lot - let's just redirect any references to the old list and delete the one I made as you suggest. --Nemmerle 12:43, 28 March 2007 (PDT)

The colors on this page need to be changed for readability -- especially the yellow. --IHawkMike 07:50, 9 April 2007 (PDT)

  • Agree. I don't think the colours add any value, but make the page difficult to read. Synique 13:26, 28 June 2007 (PDT)

Tooltip Coords

What about an implementation here? It would probably be good work for a bot to do, if possible and necessary. --Fedaykin 12:25, 3 February 2008 (PST)

I think this page should flow into separate region pages, and during that process coords can be re-checked and templated, dont forget those are mostly from beta and a lot of stuff has changed since then... --Xander 13:41, 3 February 2008 (PST)

Recommend new page layout

This page is deemed excessively long and should be split up into multiple pages

Location Template

I would like to propose a common template to be shared with quests, loot, npcs and landmarks. Something like the following

{{Loc|
| type = npc|item|landmark|other // possible key for initial category
| name =
| n =
| s =
| e =
| w =
| cat = {{category|1|2|3|...|9)
}}

I'm not sure I have the right understanding of the coordinates and the relationships to each region, but maybe it would be nice to make this page appear like the quests and items page where we can key off of of categories. Just a thought. --Hinney 21:27, 9 May 2007 (PDT)

  • Coordinates are normally just S and W. Synique 13:26, 28 June 2007 (PDT)
    • That's an incorrect assumption about coordinates. Coordinates in the game are not dependant on the region either. I've checked this out, and it seems that there is an invisible, vertical "line" drawn from where coordinates start being counted as either East or West. This East-West line is located in the Misty Mountains, the closest marker I've seen being "Whitecleft" at 23.4S, 0.2E. From that place eastward on the map, all coordinates are considered "East" instead of "West". The same can be said about North-South. The Bail Rova marker is exactly on the "line", being at coordinates 0.0N, 34.5W.
    • The point here being that it does make sense to have East and North listed on the coordinates template. However, it would be more logical to combine N & S as well as W & E on the template above, showing them as N/S = ? as well as W/E = ? ... you know what I mean :) Aside from that, the template looks good. I'd like to add some coordinates myself... got just about all of the map explored. --Fedaykin 19:23, 6 August 2007 (PDT)
