Elrond's Ancestry

Elrond is a little more elven than human. His grandfather was Dior, the last king of Doriath, the Kingdom of the Sindar, who married Nimrodel a full Elf, together they had three children, twin boys and a daughter his sons Elured and Elurin were left to die in the woods of Doriath during the its sacking at the hands of the Noldor at the Second Kinslaying, while his daughter Elwing survived and carried the Silmaril with her made it to a elven settlement at the Mouth of the Sirion in Beleriand where she would later meet Earendil and give birth to Elrond and Elros. Earendil was the son of Tuor and Idril Celebrindal making him half-elven and a prince of the High Elves while Elwing was three-quarters-Elven and a Princess of the Sindar, giving Elrond the right to rule the Sindar and the Noldor. There are three pairings of elf and human in Middle-earth: Beren and Lúthien, Tuor and Idril, and Aragorn and Arwen. He is the grandson of Tuor on his father's side, and the great-grandson of Beren on his mother's side. (This was copied from the main article into here, a bit too much and detailed but yet wanted.) -- Zimoon (talk) 18:47, 6 December 2011 (EST)
