Here is the old Bestowal dialogue:

Many of the Constables have been reporting sightings of mysterious riders dressed in black, and following close in their wake are all sorts of evil things. I am not sure where the riders may be, but we must deal with what they've left behind them.

Now there have long been tales of wights among those old mounds in the Barrow-downs, though I've never really believed them. But I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe you could go out there, and if you find any of those dead folk walking about, put them back in their barrows where they belong?

The north entrance to the Barrow-downs is west of Bree, south of the Great East Road. I'm afraid what might happen if those old wights get out of the Downs!
