Walkthrough & Notes

The Naerband Map/Visual Guide by Bearded Minstrel is very helpful for THIS Quest Chain For objective 2, walk near the door to the west of the entrance until quest objective changes. Then head north down the long corridor. At the end go down the stairs to the right. In this large area there is a set of stairs in the northwest corner that leads to the Dungeons where you will find the dead guard, as well as Singed Page 3, and the Skull needed for Black Book chapter 3.3. Retrieve the Register by heading back to the main hall, south towards the main exit from Naerband. You'll find it just before you reach the main Naerband exit, a few feet just west of the main hall, behind a guarded door on your right (if you are heading south). The guard can be found in the central Jail Cell downstairs among the Flame Spirits. After retrieving the Register, you can find Akhrûn by again heading north down the long corridor, turning to the right at the end, and going back down stairs to the same large area as before. But this time head west down the center of this room, out the corridor on the west side, then take the stairs to the south.

Bestowal dialogue 'Before we part ways, there is something that I think you should know about Naerband. 'When flames poured from the mountain and created the lake of fire, the heat reached all the way underneath the prison fortress and burned alive those within. I overheard the story from Orcs while I was imprisoned. 'The prison is still run by a Black Uruk known far and wide as Thraknûl. He was known as the Dark Lord's chief torturer. It seems Thraknûl is still running Naerband as a prison even after the tower fell. Does the Uruk serve a new master? I know not.' You decide it would be worthwhile to investigate further the matter of Thraknûl. 'I wish you luck. Be careful, <name>. If Thraknûl catches you, you may never see the outside of Naerband again!' Background With Akhrûn returning to Nurn, you decide to infiltrate Naerband to learn more of the terrible Thraknûl. Objective 1 Enter Naerband Naerband is located in Talath Úrui. You should enter Naerband. The smell of burnt flesh permeates the air around you Objective 2 Search Naerband for information about Thraknûl Naerband is located in Talath Úrui. You should search Naerband for information about Thraknûl. You find some sort of register inside a locked guard room Objective 3 Search Naerband for the guard The guard abandoned the post. You should search Naerband's dungeons for the guard. It looks as if the former guard had been recently tortured Objective 4 Find the lever that opens the torture chamber Naerband is located in Talath Úrui. You should find the lever that opens the torture chamber. CHAMBER LEVER "A lever to open the a torture-chamber door." You hear the door to the torture chamber unlock Objective 5 Retrieve the guard's key Naerband is located in Talath Úrui. You should retrieve the key from the corpse of the guard. FORMER GUARD "The corpse of a former Naerband guard." KEY "A key for the guard's room." Now you should be able to find out what is in the guard's register Objective 6 Retrieve and read the guard's register Naerband is located in Talath Úrui. You should retrieve and read the guard's register. The register contains text about the coming and goings of prisoners, jailers, and torturers Objective 7 Complete Servants of Urudanî Complete The Key to Chaos Complete The Madness of Thraknûl Naerband is located in Talath Úrui. It sounds like Akhrûn has been recaptured! Objective 10 Find Akhrûn Akhrûn is in Naerband. You should find and speak with Akhrûn quickly. Akhrûn: 'Quickly, help me, <name>! We were ambushed at the mountain's base on our way to Nurn!'
