Equipping this item bestows the effect Halted Experience on the user which negates experience gain from crafting, monster kills, task fulfillment, and quest completions. This item is only available in the LOTRO Store for 495 TP.
Note
This pocket item can be very useful to temporarily freeze a character's advancement so that more game content can be completed on-level. Tasks are one example where use of the stone can have a positive impact within the game. Defeating enemies to obtain task items can easily advance the character to a new level, one where the items just obtained can no longer be turned in. Use of the stone to freeze a character's level while hunting down enemies will prevent this difficulty.
There is a negative aspect to equipping the stone as well. Specifically, quests and other game events that move the storyline forward are postponed, as these quests and events are only available or triggered at certain levels. While the stone can be swapped out at any time, if the character advances a level the primary benefit to using the stone may be negated. So players will find themselves holding the character back from completing new content.
