Host of the West

The Host of the West is a reputation faction with the March of the King in North Ithilien

The Rohirrim and Gondorian soldiers march with Aragorn from Aragorn's Pavilion in Pelennor (After Battle), through Osgiliath (After Battle) turning at The Crossroads (After Battle) to head north through North Ithilien to encamp at the edge of Dagorlad before marching on Morannon, the Black Gate, at the edge of Mordor.

The Rangers of Ithilien have moved from South Ithilien to the Camp of the Host in North Ithilien to prepare the way for them.

Reputation Items

These are typical reputation items - you click on the item to "use" it - i.e.to cause the reputation to be “turned in.”

(Note: This can be done anywhere, anytime, not just with the Barterer.

You can alt-right-click on a stack and then "use" the entire stack at one time.)

However, these reputation items are like those of Central Gondor or Far Anórien - ones that are used for both reputation gain and barter.

As in the other recent reputation implementations — once you have reached the appropriate reputation level, you barter the same items (usually multiple items) to acquire goods from the associated Reputation Vendors. In this case, those Reputation Vendors are found at the Camp of the Host and in Haerondir:

Where do these Reputation Items come from?

Resource Instances

There are two so-called "Resource Instances." These are different from previous "Crafting Instances."

• Skoironk and the Towers of the Teeth

These each have two versions -- one Solo and one Fellowship, for a total of four (4) "dailies."

In these instances you may encounter resource nodes and mob drops.

• Skoironk provides Prospector Nodes
• Towers of the teeth (Charchost) provides Scholar nodes
• There are also random ground spawn of various Flora in both
• Mobs may drop random Resources and Single-use Recipes in both

IMPORTANT NOTE: The final boss (in both) has a chest. To open that chest requires that you purchase  Set of Brittle Lock-picks from the Herbalist (Host of the West) BEFORE you enter the instance!!! Cost: 20 Phial of Violet Extract 20 Phial of Golden Extract

These instances require quests to enter. Those quests provide selectable resources.

Crafting

These reputation items can also be “easily” crafted by the various crafts with a little organization.

The crafting recipes for Host of the West are automatically bestowed to all Anórien level (T10) crafters under “Host of the West."

The Crafting Procedure

• Take an Explorer and loot the Dagorlad Scrap Deposits in the Wastes (the Dead Marsh especially), while you are collecting the phials of Golden and Violet essences throughout the Dead Marsh.

Those scrap piles give you primarily Armour/Weapon/Onyx routinely, and rarely (very rarely) Ranger’s Journals of <Craft>.

• A Scholar is necessary to loot the Lavish Dagorlad Chest for   Relic of the Battle Plain

1. Gather Weaponsmith/Metalsmith/Jeweller materials from Dagorlad Scrap Deposit
2. Gather Woodworker materials from  Gnarled Branch

   the Cook's material:   Cap of Evengleam is a rare ground spawn

3. Gather  Phial of Violet Extract from Wraithscowel, Dusknettle, and Bonemallow
4. Gather  Phial of Golden Extract from Mournweed, Evengleam, and after dark, from Eye of Night
5. Visit Herbalist (Host of the West) -- (Section: The Wastes - Rewards)
6. Exchange 25 Phial of Violet Extract 25 Phial of Golden Extract for desired Ranger Journals

   for Towers of the Teeth don't forget  Set of Brittle Lock-picks for 20 Phial of Violet Extract 20 Phial of Golden Extract

7. Craft stuff - One recipe is on a 18 hour cooldown, the other is 6 days 18 hours. Mob dropped recipes are single use.
8. Visit “Master-<Provisioner>/<Weaponist>/<Armourer>” and exchange the stuff you have crafted for the reputation tokens you need

   Each Master will accept any crafted item and exchange it for THEIR appropriate Rep item
