Deeds are special tasks which reward the character with a title, trait, or skill. There are several different categories of Deeds.
For every 40 deeds completed, your maximum number of current quests will increase by 1, to a maximum of 50. In your deed log (also in your titles) you will find that each deed (or title) comes with some sort of wax seal. Generally this seal indicates the type of deed, such as a spyglass for Exploration Deeds, or crossed swords for Slayer Deeds.
Class
Class deeds are unlocked by using your character's skills. Beginning when you leave the intro area and receive the Novice characteristic, some of your skills will unlock Deeds which will track your use of that skill and grant a class Trait when you have used it a certain number of times.
- Burglar Deeds
- Captain Deeds
- Champion Deeds
- Guardian Deeds
- Hunter Deeds
- Lore-master Deeds
- Minstrel Deeds
- Rune-keeper Deeds
- Warden Deeds
Racial
Racial deeds are unlocked by battling creatures which are most hated by your race, once you get your Adept characteristic. Defeating enough of those creatures will complete that deed and grant you a racial trait.
Epic
Epic Deeds are advanced by completing each book of the Epic Quest line. Shadows of Angmar has two title rewards, while Mines of Moria awards the player a legendary class trait.
Instances
Deeds inside instances have their own tab in your Deed log. Some of them contribute to meta-deeds.
Skirmishes
There are two sorts of deeds completed in skirmishes.
Regional
Region deeds can involve performing quests, discovering locations, or simply defeating creatures but they are all grouped by a region. Most region deeds reward either a title or a virtue.
Deeds by Region
Deeds by Type
Regional deeds are also divided in your Deed Log, depending what you have to do in order to complete the deed - kill some monsters, find some places and so on. You can filter each of these deed types in your Deed Log.
Deeds by Virtue
For the ease of finding the information on certain virtues, we have also divided deeds by what virtue they give:
Reputation Deeds by Faction
Overview
This category contains Deeds related to Faction Reputation
- found on the "Reputation" tab of the in-game Deed Log
- Deeds are split in subcategories per region
Types of Reputation Deeds
There are several types of deeds that are categorized:
- Regional Deeds that award a Title, access to certain facilities, locations, interiors, skills, vendors, etc., travel and/or vendor discount, LOTRO Points. These deeds require reputation points to earn, and are categorized by region. For example: Category:Bree-land Reputation Deeds
- Deeds that reward reputation points for a faction. These deeds are categorized by faction name inside the regions. For example: Category:Men of Bree Deeds
Social
Social deeds involve being the target of another player's emotes (like /hug or /crazy). They reward either a title or a special emote (e.g. fire breathing).
Hobby
Hobby Deeds involve hobby-related accomplishments, and usually reward titles or housing decorations.
Hidden
Hidden deeds are activated upon discovery.
