This category is used for landmarks or Points of Interest. They always read their names under the mini-map; usually are marked with a red-flag icon at the in-game map, but that is not always the case. Such landmarks may for example be nature phenomena, remains of human activities, or a point of interest with a lore in Tolkien's works.

A landmark may also be found in other categories, such as Category:Animal lairs, Category:Camps, Category:Ruins, etc.

Landmark versus Settlement: Should a "landmark", e.g. a "camp", provide a sensible level of services an editor may decide to promote the landmark to "settlement" even though the in-game map does not use the blue icon for that location; this is a judgement call though.

Note: Lotro-Wiki also provides pages for spectacular or odd locations that are found in many regions. Then another icon is used to signal that the location is not an 'official landmark' but documented for its own values. They are categorized under "Other Locations" within the region categories respectively.

To create a landmark page, see Boilerplate:Location Landmarks.
