Hello there! I'm glad you decided to create an account for yourself. The best way to get started is usually to pick something you find interesting in the game (crafting, a particular class, quests, locations, etc. etc.) and either add new content (Helm's Deep will provide plenty of opportunities for this) or edit what's already there: fixing typos, correcting amounts, updating coordinates, that kind of thing. If you need any help or pointers for where to go, just give a shout. :) -- Elinnea (talk) 22:18, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm responding to your question here, if you don't mind. I'm not familiar with wikia at all, but to upload a new file, the easiest way is to click on the "Upload file" link over on the left sidebar under Tools. If there's a red link for a file that doesn't exist yet, you can also click on it to get to the file upload page. If you're looking for more information about formatting files or how we use them on this wiki, we have a page Help:Images with a lot of those details. -- Elinnea (talk) 20:45, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

(Copied over)Thank you, that helped. I hope its okay that i didnt replace the existing file but uploaded a new one. I didnt see that option until afterwards. Thanks again,

Normally it wouldn't be a big problem that you created a new file instead of updating the current one, but in this case could I ask you to re-upload the file under the original name? It would be better to maintain the file history that we have at File:Rhovanion map.jpg. Also, we have to think about what will happen in the future - next time a new land mass is added to Rhovanion, the picture will change again, and then it will need a new name (Rhovanion with Western Gondor, or whatever) and all the pages that link to it will have to be updated again to show the correct map. It's better to use the most general name possible, so it can still be used for years to come. :) -- Elinnea (talk) 01:27, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
In particular with Map files -- They are keyed to Template: Tooltip Coords and have their coordinates recored in the Javascript code which enables that Template. Fortunately, even though the file you uploaded is 1350x680 and the one you replaced was 1220x1200, the coordinates remain the same. The difference in the two files is primarily visual -- the new file is "squished" compared to the old one.

UPdate 18

The javascript has been updated so that the tool tips for coordinates (Tooltip Coords) now work for Far Anórien.

BTW, Thanks for the work on the update pages.
I believe that we will not have any "real" settlements -- only locations. I.e. Settlements contain "Services." And so far, at least, the only services appear to be at the Rohirrim Encampments. But we will no doubt have to wait for later builds to be certain.
