Thanks for the Silithar

Good catch! English is not my native language so I totally missed that nuance of the text when first stumbling on this last of many adamants. Thanks for ironing this thing out!!

A tip: When moving a page, remember to take a good look at the what-links-here page, both for the old and for the new page. Now all broken links are fixed (mainly thanks to Seth), but for next time ;) -- Zimoon 05:06, 31 July 2012 (EDT)

I am sorry if I have caused some extra work, but I was led to believe that I did not have to worry about links. Namely, the wiki itself told me that it would create a redirect that would link from the original page to the new one. I checked it afterwards, it worked, and it still works now. Which means that links referring to the original page were never broken. Which in turn means that I do not understand what kind of problems such a page move could cause. Please do explain, as I really wish to avoid causing any trouble in the future if at all possible.--CementHold (talk) 11:41, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
I apologise, it was absolutely not meant as criticism but an honest tip. Yes, moving is causing a redirect, but if we are moving from an error-name it is great if we can rectify all links and so "empty" the redirect and then delete the redirect. In this case it was more of a special case, but unless called for it is better to use the [[link|variation]] form of links. All is sorted in this case, just wanted to let you know. Thanks again, good catch on that singular/plural thing :)

Way to go with scaring the new guy, Z. ;) But, yes, as he said, it's more a matter of cleanliness than necessity. I happened to see that you moved Quest:The Last of the Silithair and just went on automatic double-checking and sweeping up the leftovers - no extra work created or harm done. For the most part it's not worth worrying about, and we all miss a link here or there, but the tidier we can keep things, the easier the wiki becomes to manage one, three, or six months down the road. I will occasionally comb through the list of redirect pages and prune extraneous ones for just this purpose. Cheers on the good work, though, and keep it up! Sethladan 15:41, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
Ah, I see now, thank you. :)
And about the Silithar/Silithair forms, I honestly had no idea whatsoever that they were singular/plural. None at all. I noticed a broken Item:Silithair link, from there I found the Silithar page. At that time it said that these two forms were mixed without any apparent reason, and I guess that is why I started looking more closely. I just made the changes to match the spelling of the in-game text, without understanding it. (My mother tongue is also not English.)--CementHold (talk) 16:34, 31 July 2012 (EDT)

Promotion

Thanks for the many great contributions you've made in such a short time, some are large and some are small but all are valuable nevertheless. You have been promoted to Ninja, keep up the good work. -- Zimoon 07:53, 10 August 2012 (EDT)
