Hi! My name is Kelly, and I live in the Northwest (USA). I have family who plays LoTRO, and they finally convinced me to come try the waters. I had only played in the early beta of the game, and hadn't been too impressed to make the switch when it came out. I was then playing Dark Age of Camelot, and was die hard to RvR till end of game. I finally came back to LoTRO right around the time they started their LUA Scripting beta in late 2010? I was impressed with how the game had turned out. I was also encouraged, from a software standpoint, to try my hand in learning LUA. I work with computers for a living, and I find it essential to keep learning and trying new technology to keep work exciting and fun! Over the past year I have authored 2 addons:

  • LoTRO Compendium - a in game database of quest, deed, item, and crafting information. My hope here is to work with lotro-wiki to help provide more accurate and up to date information to players.
  • Waypoint - a compass arrow that can direct you in game to a set of coordinates that you supply. The thought was that this could interface in other plugins that dealt with coordinates. It currently is integrated with LoTRO Compendium, and MoorMaps

I'm also actively working to make using LoTRO's LUA plugins earlier for players to use. Late 2011, I started on creating an application, LoTRO Plugin Compendium (LPC), that lets users search, install, and update their plugins. This partially stemmed, yet again, out of a desire to learn new technology. I completely missed the .NET bandwagon the last 10 years, and wanted badly to learn. The current version is a Windows application. Short of a VM to program in Windows, I am primarily a linux user at home. I am also working on a platform independent version of LPC written in Java. You can download a copy of that here
