Patient and Perseverance are the key to all things in Middle Earth

Bio

Iokie's name is not elven but a simplification in the common tongue since few in middle arth could pronounce his name. He is a Noldor elf that answered the call to join the Host of the Valor in the first age and came to middle earth on the ships of the Falmari . Most of his kin died in the War of Wrath against Melkor. Once the war ended Iokie settled in Lindon at the beginning of the second age. Tried and weary from the war Iokie was unable to to stop thinking about the undying lands from where he came. He studied in Harlindon under the tutelage of Cirdan at the beginning of the second age longing for a return to Valinor but their were no ships at that time to return home. The age of Numenor had begun. There was much to be done in the building of the great elven realms of middle earth, Lindon, Eregion, Lothlorien . But peace is something that middle earth has in short supply (at least in the terms of the lives of elves.) The rings of power were made. The relevation of the one ring made it clear that all were threatened by Sauron. There were also rumors of surviving Belryg. With Sauron's assaults on the elven realms Iokie became committed to one singluar purpose, the defeat of Sauron and removing the control he had over the rings of power. He left Lindon for Eregion to fight Sauron and Sauron's armies but Eregion was lost along with Iokie's remaining kin. He was separated from his good friend Haradion which he has not seen since. The stronghold of Imlardis was founded and the White council formed. The House of the Rings was formed to assist the White council, it would be made up of all races to help protect the rings of power and to protect middle earth from the rings. Iokie was called upon to serve in this new order. He fought on the slopes of Mt Doom in the Last Alliance of men and elves at the end of the 2nd age. There was great hope in middle earth at the beginning of the 3rd age. Sauron's defeat brought hope for the future it was not to last. Isuldir's acount of the great ring meant that Sauron wasn't defeated but hindered. The disappearance of the one ring would not last forever. Iokie's destiny in middle earth was not over. The House of the Rings became history, after a thousand years it became myth. Until the stirrings in Mirkwood and Amon Lanc now know as Dol Gurdor caused concern amongst White council around the year T.A 1100. One of the Ishtari, Gandalf, became suspicous that one called the neomancer by the local peoples was more dangerous than a mere mortal man practising witchcraft. The summons to the House of the Rings was again made. The Ishtari's leader Saruman formed a fellowship of the two Blue wizards, Morinehtar and Rómestámo, along with Iokie from the House of the Rings and sent them into the eastern lands beyond the Rhun. There had been rumors that Sauron had gone to the east and this needed to be verified. While this was was a ruise by Saruman it was discovered that indeed Sauron had hidden himself in the east but was no longer there. The Blue wizards remained in the east to try to undo the harm Sauron caused there. They asked Iokie to return to the west to report to the council. That was the last contact Iokie ever head with the Blue Wizards. The way back was blocked by armies of Orcs and Goblins to the west. Going south, Mordor had been reoccupied and one does not simply walk through Mordor. A way by sea to the south could not be found. Iokie worked his way north to the cold seas of the north and then westward. Finally arriving in Forochel. Only to find that the Witch king of Angmar (Lord of the Nazuls) had been waging vaste wars upon the regions from there to the Barrow Downs and east to all the way to Rivendell. Evendim was lost. Rhudar (now the Ettenmoors) was also lost. For the next 450 years Iokie spent battling against the forces of the Witch king. He became acquainted with rangers of the north. Iokies marched with armies of Gondor and Lindon that finally wiped out the armies of the Witch king of the north in the Battle of Fornost in T.A. 1975. The Witch king fled the battle at the end. Iokie with the House of the Rings helped track the Lord of the Nazguls for the next 5 years back to Mordor. The House of the rings kept a watchful eye on Mordor but were unable to stop the Nazguls from overrunning Minas Ithil 20 years later in T.A. 2000. It is now known now Minas Morgul. The witch king had summoned the other 8 to him in the intervening years. The first challenge by the Witch king in 2043 was ignored by to Earnur the last king of Gondor but a second challenge 7 years later was accepted against the advice of all council. Nothing could be done to protect him. He never returned and the reign of the kings ended in T.A. 2050. The stirrings in Dol Goldur raise alarms but when investigated by Gandalf found that the necomancer had fled. The time of the Watchfull Peace came which lasted 400 years (unbeknownst to many, the House of the Rings and the rangers saw no peace). In T.A. 2460 Sauron returned to Dol Guldur, Smeagol very shortly thereafter found the one ring. The House of the Rings kept on eye on Dol Guldur at the behest of several council members even though the head of the council, Saruman, was against it. From information passed on to the council Gandalf returned to Dol Guldur in 2850 to find the dwarf king Thrain II dying there. He had been the keeper of the last known dwarf rings of power. The only known remaining rings of power not in Saurons possession now are the 3 elven rings of power. Gandalf confirmed that the necomancer there was indeed Sauron but the White Council leader Saruman would not allow an attack on Dol Guldur. Iokie and other members of the House of the Rings now believe that Saruman who had told us that the one ring was lost in the Anduin River and swept out to sea is actually seeking the ring for himself. We report these beliefs to Gandalf who doesn't seem surprised but asks us not to confront Saruman at the council. For the almost 90 years Iokie kept his vigil on Mirkwood and Dol Guldur. Armies of Orcs and Wargs were massing there. Word is sent to the council. Iokie left Dol Guldur to let Beorn know that an army of wargs and orcs were preparing to march upon Mirkwood. To Iokie's surprise he found Gandalf had already been at Beorn's home and a plan has already been set in motion. Iokie and Beorn made their way to the ruins of Dale to find the battles already joined. The ensuing melee left Iokie wounded by Bolg, son of Azog. Sauron escaped Dol Guldur in the south and fled to Mordor. It took several decades to recover from the wounds of that day. This brings us to the present. Iokie is in the service of the House of the Rings. He stands to help any of the free folk of middle earth not under the influence of Saruman or Sauron. Iokie has centuries of studies of potions and lores that can help all folk but in particular he has special skills in crafting items for scholars and minstrels. The millenia of fighting the forces of Sauron have left him particularly disagreeable with Orcs of any type. He has friendships with many of the animals in middle earth and can call upon them when help is needed. Iokie's last known location was western Gondor near Edhellond. He has gone there seeking any news of Haradion even though it has been three millenia since he last saw him. Not normally sociable with the race of men Iokie has become close friends with Curtholde, a captain of men of unquestionable bravery and loyalty. Though normally Iokie is searching the lands by himself or with his animal friends his first service is to the House of the Rings or to anyones aide.
