Hi all!

My first contact with Middle-Earth was when I got the videogame "The Hobbit" for the ZX Spectrum computer. Given the fact that I understood almost no english at the time, it's surprising that I liked it so much, being mainly a text game :-) Turbine would make me a happy hobbit if LOTRO loading screens said "You wait - time passes".

Anyway, as many other people here, I've done the whole thing, read the books, played the videogames, even helped translating one of the MERP books (the paper RPG). I'm a casual gamer, enjoy lore, world exploration and light RP. I have a couple characters in Landroval, and a few more in other servers (both US and EU). The two relevant ones are:

  • Drelain, a dwarf merchant from the White Mountains, starting late in life his new vocation of fighting off goblins and other menaces to the safety of the dwarves. After decades of trading in jewellery and crafts, he is beginning to make his own, straight from the ore deposits, as any sensible dwarf would. He is my main character for getting ore, money and components.
  • Elohild, a woman from Dale that somehow ended up leading a tiny militia/mercenary group. She moved west following work, and she found a place where she can develop her interests in ancient history and sword crafting techniques. She was brought up in a farm; she hates farming but meh, it's a way of earning money too. She is my main character for exploring and discovering Middle-Earth.

Lotro-wiki related stuff:

I have a few years of experience as a wikipedia editor, and I'm also involved in another big MMORPG wiki, so I hope I don't break anything important while tinkering around :)

A reminder to myself of things I would like to work on, when I can:

  • The gift box for new characters
  • Descriptions of places, history, events and characters.
  • Recent changes in systems (the after-F2P Riding system, for example) and content (the Lone-lands revamp)
  • Special:PopularPages - improvements here are very useful as many people will benefit from them.
  • Category:Stubs
  • Things to do - a good list of "wiki-quests" (wiki-deeds? wiki-skirmishes?)

To create new pages, for each type of page (NPCs, items, quests...) there are usually:

Somthing that I love to do

When it's night and the sky is full of stars: Get into first person view. Press F12 to hide the HUD and N to hide the names. Press Insert to move at a reasonable pace. Take a stroll, look around and enjoy the view.

Best patch from Vol III Book 2

  • Hobbits will no longer play bagpipes with their noses. (Ref)
