Ranger NPCs
I think there should be a distinction between the faction NPCs (Category:Rangers of Esteldín NPCs) and rangers in general (Category:Ranger NPCs). There are rangers in Evendim, Angmar and elsewhere who are not directly associated with the faction as are a few of the NPCs in Esteldín. Some of the rangers in Angmar (Gath Forthnír) are associated with the Council of the North faction instead of the Rangers of Esteldín faction.
Guys like Techeron are both a Rangers of Esteldín NPC and a Ranger NPC, while someone like Halros is (in my opinion) only a Ranger NPC.
Yes, but all Rangers of Esteldín are also Rangers, that is why the category for the RoE are included in the category for R. In other words, RoE is a special group of Rangers at large, and including C:RoE within C:R reflects that, right?
Ok, I see what you did now. Sorry.
No problem, reading all the change-log takes a while ;)
And also, the RoE category is new. Generally speaking some (many??) reputation factions are in need of some love; I do them as I encounter them by geography overhauls so sooner or later, but anybody ... :P
BTW, while you're out in the North Downs, take a look at the Robin Hood scarecrow around [8.2S, 46.4W]. I have often wondered if it is involved in any quests.
- PS: Interesting, the tooltip coords do not pop up a map!
As I recall, those scare crows appeared when the recipes to allow ?Woodworkers? to manufacture them as "Hunter Traps" appeared.
The one in North Downs has been there virtually as long as I can remember. I have seen others around in other locations as well. So far, I have not found any kind of deed or similar thing related to any of them. They are "just standing there looking cute." :)
