Thoroval

The Thoroval

The Thoroval was a ship of Lindon, sent by Círdan the Shipwright to retrieve Arvedui, the last king of Arthedain, and his company from Forochel, where they had fled from the Witch-king of Angmar. The Lossoth begged Arvedui to wait before boarding the ship, but he did not heed them and the Thoroval was destroyed in a storm sent by the Witch-king. The ship, its crew, and the Gaunt King perished in the Ice-bay along with two palantíri.

The ship is referenced in the quest [50] Vol. 1, Book 13 -- Chapter 7: The Lost Mariner. The storm itself is shown by the Helcessar in Agoroth, the Narrowdelve.
