problems from nesting this template within other templates
There are a couple of quirks with this template.
- One of them is the syntax found here in the Doc page:
- Produces
- :{{Other Outputs
- This syntax does NOT indent any of the material as would be expected.
- The heading: "Other Outputs" is overriding the indent.
Some playing with this issue: User:Magill/Sandbox-U18.2 - Minstrel instruments - see the Eastern Rohan section. User:Magill/Sandbox-U18.2 - Minstrel instruments#Eastern Rohan
- Things to note -- the enclosing table has caused some strange formatting of the basic Other Outputs template - User:Magill/Sandbox-Other Outputs
I suspect that there may be multiple lower-level template problems -- note that the "Riddermark" in "Items to trade centers, rather than left aligns. Templates: Barter and Reward (I suspect the "float" parameter)
- One intersting effect?symptom is that the enclosing table (which I'm just using to play with) does not "work" unless there is a title inserted. If you delete the line:
"! some title is needed to make this work" -- the display chages radically, and the alignments revert to as expected.
- The left margin indent is not resetting if the "other output" text from the bottom of the page is used, which may be a MediaWiki bug. (I have a vague remebrence of that having been noted before.) It is posssible to simply insert "style=text-align: left;" to force what is/was the expected default alignment; but something isn't bein inherited. Not being a CSS expert, I don't see where that is coming from, or why it changes when imbedded.
- Warning: some changes do not take effect without cache flushing.
The overall goal is to generate a nested table effect with the recipe and its default options followed by an indented listing of the other options.
