- I know you saw my statement on the Contributor's Corner page, but the template is appropriate for named NPC's. See a recent page that I used it on, Verity Tyne. Added maploc setting
I've added a maploc parameter to store map co-ords for the NPC. I also created a Co-ords template, which simply returns a placeholder, for now. People can add the maploc data if they like, and later we can put the data to use, it should all start to work nicely.
Sorry about all the edits, but I couldn't work out how to test the template without saving it.

Does putting categories in Templates make sense?
For example, I was thinking that after the {{clear}} template, a [[Category:NPC]] tag would be nice. It does seem that most pages using this template have manually included the [[Category:NPC]] tag.

Changing link from Species to.... creature type?
I edited the page text link to the page "species" without any trouble. However, INSIDE this actual template, there is a line item called Species, which links to the Species page. However, the Species page is empty and also defunct now that we're using the Category:Creature_types organization system.
I understand that there are special concerns with editing a template. Isn't it true that the pages containing the template will NOT automatically update? Please let me know.
