Template:Other

This is the template documentation for {{Other}}. It is transcluded from Template:Other/doc and may be directly edited there.

Use this template to disambiguate (distinguish) between pages with similar names. Up to six "other" or "alternate" pages can be specified.

Usage

{{Other}} takes up to 13 unnamed parameters.

In order:

1. The topic of the current page
2. An alternate topic (similarly named page #1)
3. The pagename of the first alternate page (without wikilinks)
4. Another alternate topic (similarly named page #2)
5. The pagename of the second alternate page (without wikilinks)
6. Another alternate topic (similarly named page #3)
7. The pagename of the third alternate page (without wikilinks)
8. Another alternate topic (similarly named page #4)
9. The page name of the fourth alternate page (without wikilinks)
10. Another alternate topic (similarly named page #5)
11. The page name of the fifth alternate page (without wikilinks)
12. The last alternate topic (similarly named page #6)
13. The page name of the last alternate page (without wikilinks)

Notes

• This template should always appear at the top of a page before any infoboxes or other templates.

Note that when using it with the ITEM TOOLTIP template, it must go immediately AFTER the </onlyinclude>

• All parameters are optional; calling {{Other}} with no parameters specified will simply point to a disambiguation page based on the current page's name.
• Not specifying a pagename for an alternate topic will similarly create a link to {{PAGENAME}} (disambiguation)

• If 4 or more {{Other}} is needed, always create a disambiguation page. See Category:Disambiguation Pages for more information.
• Keep the "USE1" as short as possible, if any, certainly if there are more than 1 {{Other}} in place.
