When to Use

Middle-earth: Starter Area, Lands, Regions, Areas, Settlements, Landmarks, Dungeons, Interiors, Maps

Interiors use the same gated game mechanics as instances but are not typically considered instances. Interiors are buildings, halls, and other inside locations in Middle-earth that are populated by friendly NPCs. Characters can usually enter interiors by opening a door and passing into a separate instance from the outside world though in some cases are entered by interacting with an NPC and being transported to. Most interiors are located within a settlement such as the Scholar's Enclave in Duillond or the Prancing Pony in Bree.

Usage

This template is for use on all interior pages. The inputs for this template are:

  • name: The interior name. Default: PAGENAME
  • region: The region name. Default: none
  • area: The area name. Default: none. If "area" equals "settlement" only "settlement" is displayed.
  • settlement (optional): The settlement name. Default: none.
  • location (optional): A more specific location. Default: none. Used for named locations within a settlement, for landmark, or the similar.
  • type (only for player housing): The house type. Default: not included. Notice: if used then also "area" must be set
  • map (optional): The map name for use with the location tooltip. Default: not included
  • NS (optional): The North/South value from the ;loc command in-game including either N or S at the end. (Use "?" to make a "Coordinates Needed" placeholder.)
  • EW (optional): The East/West value from ;loc command in-game including either E or W at the end. (Use "?" to make a "Coordinates Needed" placeholder.)
  • nocat (optional): Used only for obsolete locations to disable auto-categorization.

Categories

If "type" is specified the template will automatically add the page to the house type category for the specified "area". Otherwise the template will automatically add the page to the "region" category for interiors, and no other category.
