Proximity to the shore affects drop?

When I did this quest earlier today, the norbog that dropped the lead dog was close to the shore. Not sure if it was coincidence or what, because I killed about 6-7 norbogs farther inland, and they didn't drop it. It makes sense when you read the bestowal dialogue, but I wanted to get confirmation that only norbogs close to the shore drop the lead dog. Zyxomma100 12:37, 9 August 2007 (PDT)

Hmm, I got it on the first or second drop, towards the north end about half way out from the shore I guess (was killing them for one of the Tinnudir quests). DancesInTrees 11:05, 11 August 2007 (PDT)

When I did this quest it dropped off the first Norbog, and I wasn't very close to the shore. I have never seen positional quest mob drops, and I highly doubt the devs would waste their time setting only certain norbog spawns near the shore as the quest item droppers. If you kill norbogs in the general area of where the quest tells you to, I'm sure they will all have a chance to drop the item. --Fedaykin 11:15, 11 August 2007 (PDT)
