Quest Talk:Do You Know...Candaith?

Possibly it is some "blocker" to this quest. Did the 3 quests to get hide, meat, and weapons today. This one did not open up. I wonder wonder if it may be that I have already spoken to Candaith (as well as Anlaf at the Forsaken Inn for the Word to Anlaf quest which also is said to open up at the same time). After all it is kind of an introduce-me-to-an-NPC quest. Would be interesting to see what blocks this one :)

I have a memory tickle about riding Saeradan's horse to Candaith and jumping off when I saw the hunter camp in the Weather Hills. You can get that ride in Quest:Foreword: Aiding the Order. RingTailCat (talk) 17:57, 3 February 2012 (EST)
Yupp, you mean that non-swift ride from Saeradan to Candaith ;)
But now it puzzles me why I do not see this quest as I surely have done the prerequisites. My guess is that if I have met Candaith already this does not show up. And the same for the other "new quest" about Anlaf. A guess, no more :)

I would guess that you have to have taken the quest telling you to go speak with Candaith, but not have turned it in yet. It would make sense with the dialogue, which has you asking for directions to find him, as if you're in the process of looking for him. I got this quest when I was riding the horse and jumped off, as RTC says. It didn't show up until I completed one of their quests, which would indicate that I 'know' these people now and can ask them questions like that. Or maybe I personify the game's logic too much. ;) -- Elinnea (talk) 22:01, 3 February 2012 (EST)
Nope, I have not yet come to that an age ... yet :-)
Actually I had just 3 open quests at the time, and the history is ordered per level and name so easy to scan. I am 100% certain that the toons come this far (I level slow you know) have not seen these quests. Next toon I will route this way before Anlaf and/or Candaith and see. My main interest/curiosity is why the two quests have opened for the toons that I have routed this way, so we can document that reason. So if you had never talked to Anlaf/Candaith before the quests make sense and that is an easy thing for the game to remember (check taken/completed quests). What other logical reasons could there be? Hardly level as my toons ranged 22 to 27 when passing by. Quests added later than that would not show up -- hardly but who knows? Either way, there is a reason, but I wonder what it is?

Whee, always something new to discover. I had no idea this quest existed, heh. I had Foreword: Aiding the Order but hadn't been to see Candaith yet nor completed any of the quests at the Forsaken Inn (although I'd gone and picked them all up a few days ago). Did not get the Anlaf quest, though, so I'm wondering which is the blocker for that - maybe Thistlewool's Sullied Name? More exploring to do! Sethladan 19:25, 20 May 2012 (EDT)
Not adding anything about this quest but this topic may very well be identical to the one Talk:Helegdir which is about three other quests which rule out one another. A character that picks one will not see the other two. If a player runs the same route always s/he will never see the other two quests. Since that is a proven case for other quests it now just boils down to what rules out which in this case ;)
