Walkthrough & Notes

This quest counts for the Aiding the Norcrofts deed. Completing Aiding the Eastemnet will cancel this quest There is no actual lasso, so don't look for one. Mount your war-steed. Left click on a wild horse (they will have a gold quest ring above their heads). Type /follow. Double-click the horse, and it will take off. You are bound to the horse by the /follow command, so don't worry about losing it. It will attract the attention of orcs, who will attack it. Kill them as best you can. The horse's journey lasts too long for it to survive if you do not fend off attacks. Alternatively, have a friend accompany you to deal with the orcs. Continue till you see the message "The horse has been caught." If you get too far from the horse, or the horse is defeated, you will see the failure message: The horse has escaped Lasso another horse, if one escapes.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Horses are our lives. Without his horse, a man in these lands is nothing. With the Enemy encroaching, many good men have had their horses lost...or worse, killed. New horses are a premium and valuable commodity. 'A herd has been spotted below the cliffs just to the south-west of here. They are all wild, and it will not be as easy as just putting a saddle on them. If you approach slowly, you will be able to slip a rope around one of them...then hold on and stay close. If you can keep nearby for long enough, he should tire, then come here. 'Bring a horse back for us...it does not matter which one. Make sure you stay close and be careful...the young ones out there are skittish and apt to change directions quickly.' Background A herd of wild horses has appeared at the edge of the plains below Cliving. Objective 1 Place your lasso around the neck of a wild horse The wild horses can be found at the base of the cliff south-west of Cliving. Gladsnel asked you to catch a wild horse and bring it back to Cliving. Wild Horse: 'The horse looks uneasy and skittish. The horse has been caught Objective 2 Talk to Gladsnel Gladsnel is in Cliving. Gladsnel will be pleased to hear that you caught a wild horse. Gladsnel: 'That is an impressive mare you brought back in. She has strong legs and intelligent eyes. She will do well in battle.'
