Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'I don't know what these mervyl are, <name> -- this is the first I've seen or heard of them, though perhaps they are related to the merrevail -- but I am certain that their presence here in Khazad-dûm bodes only ill. 'I've heard reports from our companions in Jazârgund to the north and east of here that there is a huge cavern at the eastern end of Durin's Way crawling with both merrevail and mervyl. I want you to head east to Jazârgund and speak with Oxi. He should know more about the mervyl and may have some plan to deal with them. 'I warn you, though, that is a very dangerous area.' Background Rambi has little idea what the mervyl are, but they sound to him like something his friend Oxi mentioned in a recent message. Objective 1 Talk to Oxi at Jazârgund Oxi can be found at Jazârgund in Durin's Way, north and east of the Chamber of the Crossroads. Rambi recommends that you speak with his friend Oxi about the mervyl. Rambi: 'Oxi saw something similar to these mervyl you tell me about. You should speak with him at Jazârgund.' Oxi: 'So, Rambi wants to learn more about the accursed mervyl? 'Well, I'm afraid I cannot say that I've learned too much as of yet -- and all that I know is ill news indeed -- but so be it....'
