Bestowal dialogue

'Oh mercy me! You wouldn't believe me if I told you. I'll tell you anyways.

'I was in the Haunted Burrow, searching for treasure, and I found a bit of chain in the attic. I thought perhaps a door would open on the ceiling, and I would find a larder full of riches, but no!

'A living, walking skeleton came towards me, rattling and clacking! It gave me such a fright; I ran away before I could even finish tugging on that chain.'

NOTE: Only one Haunted Burrow quest may be underway at a time.

Background

Polo Puddifoot heard some very strange sounds when he was wandering through the Attic of the Haunted Burrow.

NOTE: This quest will be removed from your quest log when the event it is associated with ends.

Objective 1

  • Find the source of the rattling in the attic

A strange rattling can be heard in the attic of the Haunted Burrow.

You should seek out the source of the rattling and drive it off so that Polo can continue his search for treasure without troublesome interruptions.

Hobbit: 'I'll haunt you forever! Ha-ha!'
Oh no! Something is coming!
Hobbit says, "Rattle, clack! I'm coming for you!"
Hobbit says, "Rattle rattle!"
Hobbit says, "Ouch! Hey! I'm not really a monster!'
It was only a hobbit playing a silly prank

Objective 2

Polo Puddifoot awaits you outside The Party Tree.

You should return to Polo Puddifoot and tell him of this "skeleton" you encountered.

Polo Puddifoot: 'That evil wight was only a hobbit in disguise? Abominable behaviour! Who was it? I shall give him a telling-off that he'll not be forgetting any time soon. The gall of some folk, really!'
