"Garmund has rejected my commands to remain guarding the city. He has taken his éored to reclaim land from the Orcs, keeping his oath to protect the whole of the Norcrofts."

Background

Captain Garmund has organized an unexpected counter-attack against the Orcs who have sacked the farmlands outside of Cliving in the hopes of driving back some of the White Hand forces.

Objective 1

  • Talk to Garmund

Captain Garmund can be found just ahead of you, at the northern edge of the farmland.

Garmund has asked you to help him repel many of the White Hand trespassers across the farmland.

Captain Garmund: 'I am glad to have you with me, <name>. Stay close and be ready to strike our foe.
'Come. Let us see what these trespassers are made of!'
  • Defend Garmund as he attacks the White Hand forces
Captain Garmund says, "The Norcrofts will not be taken from us! Forth Eorlingas!"
Captain Garmund says, "We will make safe once more, the lands of Théoden King!"
Captain Garmund says, "No Orc can match the riding skill of the Horse-lords!"
Captain Garmund says, "Show no mercy to the trespassers!"
Captain Garmund says, "Send the foe fleeing back to Isengard!"
Captain Garmund says, "I will fulfill my oath, and cut down any in my path!"
Captain Garmund says, "Do not attempt to impede me, for I will have vengeance on my foes!"
Captain Garmund says, "Show the enemy what fate awaits those who oppose the Eorlingas!"
Captain Garmund says, "We will purge this evil from the Riddermark!"
Captain Garmund says, "We have beaten many foes, but their number is simply too great..."
Captain Garmund says, "We have fought well today. Our actions have surely weakened the enemy's hold."
Captain Garmund says, "We will not reclaim these farms completely without support, but we have done our part."
Captain Garmund says, "I commend you for your bravery. Let no man say that we have failed to uphold our oaths!"
  • Talk to Captain Garmund
Captain Garmund: 'Let us return to the outpost at the watchtower. We cannot hope to regain the fields in such short time.'
