Walkthrough & Notes

NOTE: You must have the fishing hobby trained in order to complete this quest. NOTE: This is a solo quest and cannot be completed in a fellowship. Kill groups of mobs, fish, successful fishing will pop the boss, switch to weapon, kill boss (boss drops relic to advance quest), move to new area, repeat... This quest completes automatically when you complete the Instance: Glinting in Forgotten Pools instance quest. Do not attempt to body-pull the mobs in this instance. You might think it would pull fewer mobs, but actually in here, you will pull one at a time with a long distance shout or arrow. Body pulls result in mass pulls of 3-6 which often result in death. Dying bumps you outside of the instance, outside of Galtrev even, and forces you to restart the entire instance, gathering every relic all over again. It can be a large investment of time to redo this instance if you die. Note that you cannot run away to drop aggro if you pull too many, as there are invisible walls close by.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Battles were once fought in these lands among great Men, <name>, and relics from the swords of the dead fell to the earth. In most places, the gems have long since been picked up by greedy fingers, but the pools of the Dunbog have been known to be rich with glinting treasures, lost in the deep mud. 'If you go to the Dunbog at night and try your hand at fishing there, you may pull up many great treasures that will improve your gear.' NOTE: You must have the fishing hobby trained in order to complete this quest. NOTE: This is a solo quest and cannot be completed in a fellowship. Background Many valuable relics of old were lost in a battle that took place long ago in the Dunbog. It is often said that night-time fishing excursions will produce ancient and wonderful gems that enhance powerful items. Objective 1 Talk to Bron to travel to the Dunbog Bron is in Galtrev. You should speak with Bron to begin your fishing expedition in the Dunbog. Bron: 'Are you ready to travel to the Dunbog, <name>?' Complete the Instance: Glinting in Forgotten Pools quest. Objective 2 Talk to Bron in Galtrev Bron is in Galtrev at the milestone marker in the centre of town. You should speak with Bron to collect your reward. Bron: 'You were a great help to the people of Dunland, <name>! Please, choose a reward as a token of Galtrev's gratitude.'
