Bestowal dialogue

'I am sick of waiting around! Let us see if we can get a look at what Théoden is doing. I will use my natural sneakiness to remain out of sight, but I cannot bear not knowing what is going on!

'The King is meeting with his advisors in a clearing to the south-west. It is not far!'

Background

There is trouble on the road ahead. If the Rohirrim are to come to Pelennor in time, they will need another plan.

Objective 1

Théoden meets with his advisors in a clearing at the base of Eilenach, in Taur Drúadan.

Meriadoc Brandybuck:: 'The King is meeting with his advisors in a clearing to the south-west. It is not far!'
As you approach, you see that Théoden speaks with Ghân-buri-Ghân

Objective 2

  • Talk to Théoden outside his tent in Taur Drúadan
  • Talk to Éomer outside Théoden's tent in Taur Drúadan

Théoden meets with his advisors in a clearing at the base of Eilenach, in Taur Drúadan.

Éomer: 'My uncle has spoken with the leader of these Woses, these Wild Men, and has accepted their aid. Ghân-buri-Ghân speaks of a secret way that will allow us to skirt the Orcs blocking the road beneath Amon Dîn.
'He has staked his life upon it, for he will walk beside Théoden on this secret way. If he proves false, I am to kill him where he stands. If this is a trick, I will slay him without hesitation.'
Théoden: 'I understand we have you to thank for sending us these Woses, these Wild Men, <name>. Their hatred of Orcs is similar to our own, and quite useful in this case, for the Orcs have made camp in the shadow of Amon Dîn and block our road.
'My six thousand spears could scatter this Orc barricade, but it would take time, and that time cannot be spared. Ghân-buri-Ghân says there is fire on the plain before Minas Tirith, and within the walls. The defenders will not last if we do not come soon.
'Ghân-buri-Ghân says he knows a secret way around the Orc camp. He says he can show us a forgotten road that will get us near to the city without delay. We must take this road!'

Objective 3

Ghân-buri-Ghân is meeting with Théoden and his advisors in Taur Drúadan.

Ghân-buri-Ghân: 'Ghân-buri-Ghân make promise to you, <name>. Now Ghân fulfill it. Wild Men will help Horse-men.
'Stonehouse-folk once very strong. Carved stones from hills. Carried stones on large wains. Built stonehouses on side of mountain. Road still there, but Stonehouse-folk forget. Wild Men not forget.
'Horse-men pass through Stonewain Valley. Entrance is north-east of Drû Bhûta, far south of here. Way is rocky. Clear stones from path to make safe for Horse-men's passage. Then Horse-men and <name> fight gorgûn in front of great Stone-city. Wild Men live in peace.'
