Description

Dorthaneth is the mysterious leader of the Avorrim, a group of Elves tasked by Círdan of Mithlond to keep watch over the ancient havens of Edhellond, on the coast of Belfalas in Western Gondor. She also occasionally visits the Great Hall of the Prince in Dol Amroth, to advise Lothíriel and her family against the hardships that face Belfalas.

The true identity of Dorthaneth is that of the elf-maiden Nimrodel, who was entranced by the song of Roamingstar while passing through the Gilrain Woods on her way to Edhellond, where she was supposed to meet up with Amroth, her beloved, to sail to the Undying West.
