Cirith Ulunn (Sindarin for Monster Cleft) is a deep hollow with water ponds. It is located in a mountain pocket in the highlands, in the south-eastern corner of Tâl Bruinen, east of River Bruinen. The perfect nesting ground for rock-worms it is now the home of their patriarch Sarlug. And his off-spring have infested this otherwise quite secluded location.
